Woodland Park Zoo Calendar Cover Photo Contest Finals
About a month ago I saw an ad for this contest, where members could submit their best photograph of animals from the zoo. After much deliberation I decided to enter that photo, "Leonine Lovers" which are the two 10-year-old south African purebreds Hubert and Kalisa nuzzling, for this contest. It is a true one-in-a-million shot as I have never seen them nuzzle like that since then (about 2 years ago).
After receiving about 160 entries, the zoo photographers narrowed it down to the top 10, and I made the cut.
Voting goes from today through Friday (September 10) and the photo with the most "likes" on Facebook will win!
The winning photo will be featured on the cover of the official Zoo calendar, which is sent to about 40,000 members every winter and also will get a nice prize package to go along with it.
I've definitely paid my dues - I've gone to this wonderful zoo nearly 150 times in the past 3 years and it would mean a lot for me to get recognized for my best photography work.
