Feast of St. Pelagia of Diveyevo

Nov 03, 2006 01:31

Greetings from Russia! I hope you all are doing well.

Things here are going okay. Classes are as exciting as ever (most of the time they actually are - it's wonderful studying things that are actually interesting (unlike, forgive me my American compatriots, US history)) and my Russian is as bad as ever (I'm hoping this afternoon will be revision time so that I can work on memorising more vocab, et cetera).

No more weekend trips before our departure for Moscow (unless we three Orthodox make it back to Diveyevo - grant this, O Lord!), but at the end of this month our big research papers are due and we have our final exams for our seminars and language class, so those'll keep us more than occupied as the month progresses.

I just got some songs by Over the Rhine from a classmate of mine here and I'm surprised how lovely they are. (I highly recommend "Born." It's very moving.) Oh, I had a very nice dream last night involving Keaster, Cam, and Bradley J (there were others, but I can't remember who now :-/ ). It was a rather out of the blue dream and was a blessing.

Your prayers as always!

ttfn :-)
