I finally watched Tommy earlier today. I'd listened to the album a few weeks ago and really enjoyed it, but like most music-driven stories, there were a lot of pieces I was missing with just the songs. As I should have expected, the movie was pretty different on a lot of counts, not least of which was the songs being sung by the characters themselves. Overall I liked the album version better, but a lot of the scenes were really cool to watch. I'll admit, though, I cringed during the iron maiden sequence with Tina Turner. The ending of the movie made a lot more sense than the ending I imagined from listening to the album, even though (and maybe because) it was so surprising.

In other news, Tommy's mom is such a slut.
