Secret Circle is going to be the next L.J. Smith series to get
the TV treatment. For the love of all things supernatural, could she just please finish the Night World series? Supposedly, Strange Fate is coming out in April, but who knows? Maybe instead of writing all these sappy companion Vampire Diaries books, she can write a fresh new series.
I'm kinda iffy on the actress portraying Cassie. Then again, I didn't like Life Unexpected. The Vampire Diaries was slow to start, but I really like the darker second season. I just hope it has a chance to air, and doesn't bomb before it joins the fall line-up. SC is my least favorite of her trilogies. That's not to say that I don't like it. I just enjoyed The Forbidden Game and Dark Visions so much more. I can see why they chose it though. It's definitely more white bread America (Cape Cod? Salem, MA?), and not as scary/nightmare-inducing as the the other two. Witch covens are more familiar territory than Shadow Men or psychic terrorists. TVD has witches. I guess it segues well. Probably means that Nikita will need to be on a different night. I wouldn't mind it airing with Supernatural. My mother finds both of them equally violent and gory.
I guess I shall wait and see. :)
