We had excellent fall weather this weekend, a little warmer than I expected, so we took a long slow bike ride on the Lost Bridge Trail. I've ridden it plenty of times, but I wanted to show
pinktornado just how cool it is. I figured that, between moving and weather, this would be one of the last chances until next Spring to ride the trail.
To be honest, I sorta tricked pt into doing it. The trailhead is just over 6 miles from our house, and we had to snake through all kinds of neighborhoods just to get there. Here's pt resting after we arrived at the trail, worried about how she'll get home. Her Schwinn Hollywood cruiser isn't the fastest bike, so it's a pretty good workout just to ride a few miles. =p
This is on the way back from Rochester, it's 5 miles from Springfield to Rochester on the trail, but the Rochester community park is just off the trail at 4 miles, so we turned around there. We're approaching the smaller of two bridges on the trail. They both go over little creeks. There are also two underpasses, one under I-55/I-72 and another under a regular road, it's a large corrugated steel tube set in concrete, which is pretty cool.
Riding on these trails will make anyone happy! =)
