Wow this past weekend was a roller coaster ride. We left Tim's around 5 headed for Asheville. We probably didn't pack the trailer exactly right and it almost flipped us at one point! Scary, scary moment. The trailer was a cheap, fiberglass piece of crap, but it was a good deal. Since we had to drive a bit slower we were a bit late to the show. We were playing 2nd out of four bands and we pulled up as the first band was breaking down. The show was at a small 24hr coffee shop called Caffiend. People really didn't seem too interested in hearing us. There were maybe 30 people there with about half of them sitting in the parking lot outside. That was a bit irritating. At one point Mark went opened the door and sang part of a song outside. Apathetic crowds suck. The people who came inside seemed to have a fun time. The other bands were all more on the emo/pop-punk side so that may explain why some of the crowd didn't get into it. Plus we didn't get a chance to be social and meet people beforehand. One of my pedal's decided to take a crap on me and stop working. I'm going to try to fix it myself if possible. Sundale (who pulled out of the Blacksburg show) sounded pretty darn good. Fairground Ave rocked it pretty hard and the hometown crowd gave them a good response. After the show we gassed up and Nathan and I decided to get bottles of wine for whatever reason. We drove to Johnson City where the other two shows were to crash at Nathan's friends Derek And BenPete's house. A totally sweet house at that. Ben was at a show in Nashville so we just kicked it with Derek. Nathan and I raced with our wine bottles and we went to a really cool late-night diner called Mid-City. It's open from 10pm-6am, pretty sweet. I was stupid drunk and had everyone laughing, the stories will follow me for some time.
I'm breaking this into two parts because I go into way too much detail and I get tired of typing. I will continue tomorrow night. All the nutty stuff occurred over the next two days.
