MANGGAGAMOT NG BAYAN ROCKS. April 1-8, 2006 the 20th MANGGYAN medical-surgical-dental mission.

Just returned from the annual MANGGYAN mission in Pandan, Antique...I'm still "high." High from helping, meeting old and new friends, extracting teeth, learning how to suture, learning more about medicine and dentistry. It's exhillirating.

Dr. Jay Ongsiako couldn't have said it better, "The mission is a good kind of survival, we all benefit: no one loses, and it makes us understand and enjoy life more."

As for me, I have no words enough for it, because it was just brilliant beyond brilliant. For all the medical/surgical/dental missions I've joined and participated in, this is by far, the most successful, the most meaningful, the BEST one ever --> And to think we almost didn't push through with the mission.

I had fun!

A hundred million thanks to TATAY--Dr. Bob Alojipan, Asst. Bossing MARK PLATON, Anna Palabyab, Sharon Lim, Stephen Lacson, Chinkin Coruña, Allyson Crisostomo, Abby Laurel-Suntay, Lester Suntay, Blossoms Castañeda, Nerissa Ang, Dewey Quiñones, Susan Santiago, Jummel Bornilla, Zalveen Chua, Tina Tanliongbon, Tere Pascual, Malou de Veyra, Jeanne Bertol, Aser Acosta, Beng Javier, Tita Angie Crisostomo, JV Jaurigue, Kuya Rey and Ate Rhea dela Cruz, Tito Ted Nicholoff, Jay Ongisako, Ma'm Kathy Guillergan, Ma'm Rency Ortiz, Tita Eva Delos Santos, Joey Ozamis, Tita Annie Manalaysay, Romy Mendoza, Vic Kintanar, Elaine Baens-Araneta, Dra. Alejandro Fullon Rural Hospital and all the amazing volunteers and donors.

Thank you for making this mission happen.

As I've said a few days ago, it is through you guys wherein hope is seen for this country. I salute and congratulate all of you. You are the living heroes of our country, among many others, because you really strive and do things instead of complaining and talking about it and politicizing events.

I still think idealistically because I know it is possible to live idealistically. For the four years I've been with MANGGYAN, I've personally seen people make things happen---I mean, I've seen people making a nation work for 20 years for the whole existence of MANGGYAN. However, this year was the most moving, jaw-dropping and miraculous because everything started from scratch, and the essence of MANGGYAN 2006 stems from that very fact that we worked hard inch by inch to make things work. Thank you for being a part of the team. THANK YOU!!!! ^_^
