Earlier today (or yesterday rather), Chris and I went to a couple of malls for some clothes shopping, and to use my gift card I got from work. The tax-free day was an added bonus.
Later, we went out to a very upscale restaurant with some other of my coworkers and their S.O.'s. My work was picking up the tab for us, as we had each raised more than $300.00 for the Children's Hospital.
10 of us racked up a bill of around $700.00.
We were given approval of the place, but I still think management is going to shit. The saving grace is that 6 people didn't get to come, and therefore we spent less than we would have, had the others shown up.
It was very interesting to try all the different food items. I tried a bite of sweetbreads, which are not sweet [space] breads. I started off with an artichoke tart, then had the monkfish for dinner, and an apricot/peach ice cream combo for dessert. We got a tour of the wine cellar afterwards. One bottle of wine was listed over $9000.00.
I just caught up on my friends' entries, and should go to bed now.
