My ex-ex, Chris (
python), just royally pissed me off.
The guy he is seeing needed a place to stay, and I was tired of paying on two places (the fourplex that I own and the house that I co-own with Chris), so I leased my room out to Chris's friend for the same amount of rent that
markolas currently pays. It's a flat amount, but the average of what I paid over a year is about the same amount.
Apparantly, for December and January, Chris decided to take the rent from his friend, and keep most of it for himself, applying it to his portion of the mortgage, figuring that I would continue to pay half of the house bills. He said he'd be nice enough to subtract the two months of bills from the amount he plans to buy me out at. This just infuriated me, even moreso when I figured out that Chris paid less these past two months than he would have paid had I not rented my room out. What a fucking prick.
I've left most of my furniture and housewares in the house for everyone to use. I could have been a dick and cleared out the kitchen (most of the kitchenware is mine) and half the living room, but I didn't. I also have let both our cats stay there, and both washer and dryer, because I didn't want to be mean and split them up. And then Chris has the nerve to ask me for over $500.00 for two months of bills, for a house that I haven't been staying at. Some of those bills are for the month of November, when I did live there, but the amount Chris saves (which I could have chosen to pocket myself) will cancel that out. Chris suggested that my few stays over there in December contributed to the spike in the gas bill, when in fact the spike was due to the colder weather. After checking the bills, the electric portion was much lower than normal, so it all evened out. The first month after I leased my room out, Chris actually saved $100 over what he would have paid otherwise.
Everytime I begin to allow a friendship to begin to take shape again with Chris, he does something to screw it up.
