I finished reading through NoG. There were a lot of formatting issues on ao3, so I fixed all of those, or at least I think I did. I still haven't finished uploading the rest of Invictus because I want to make sure I have the most recent version, so I'm uploading the livejournal version, which means either I don't have the paragraph spacing or the italics. It's taking longer than expected to post it. I'm so grateful to whoever got most of it up there.
I thought I had gotten up to chapter 49 of Invictus on ao3, but then I realized that I had posted two separate chapters twice on accident, so I went back and fixed those. I think I found all the duplicates, but if any of you see any chapters missing or any other missing parts, please let me know!
I also took out the Harry/Ginny tag from Invictus because I don't recall that being part of the story other than Snape briefly thinking about it.
I ended up editing a few of the chapters of NoG too. I changed them here and on ao3. I don't remember where else they were uploaded, but I only plan to update livejournal and ao3 moving forward.
The biggest change I made was their wands. I was very confused by it, since in the original version of NoG, Harry drops Snape's wand in his coffin, then tells Dumbledore he has his own wand (even though Snape has it). In RoS, they have each other's wands. Harry says he exhumed Snape and retrieved Snape's wand then.
I'm guessing since I was writing Invictus and NoG at the same time that I originally had a different plan for their wands, and that's why the last chapter of NoG has Harry with his own wand. I know I did a lot of rewrites.
So, I edited NoG and I'll be editing RoS to fit this new change. Harry will keep Snape's wand from the start instead of dropping it in the coffin.
I'll be doing a lot of changes to RoS, but not to the overall plot as is written so far, but there will be more chapters later.
To get back into the proper mindset, I pulled out my old notes. For a bit, I couldn't find them and I thought I had thrown them away, but I had them! I had written a bunch of it out on paper, including whole chapters. It was interesting to see through my planning, including abandoned plot lines.
At one point, I had planned out a gang rape of Harry, but I guess I figured that was too mean for Snape and Harry or it would've been too hard for Snape to kill them all instead of just Hathaway.
I found "interviews" I wrote where I basically asked questions of Snape and Harry and wrote out their answers. It was nice to get in their heads again.
What's funny is that a lot of my writing is on scrap paper from my college classes.
I even had a calendar of dates to keep track of time that I wrote on the backs of a lesson on sexual swelling
Some of these papers are so old they are literally falling apart. Maybe I'll scan them sometime.
