From the Heart

I changed a lot this summer. I've gotten more confident, more fun, and definitely more optimistic.
As much as I'd love to say I came to all these transformations on my own, I can't help but blame... I mean give credit to ;) my older sister.

I remember when I was younger and Jess would be hanging out with Kay Phillips. They'd always make plans together, ride their bikes, drink soda, have burping contests, do each others hair, and hang out in her tree-house. Now, I was probably the most annoying sister alive, but honestly, if I had been a great sister, I wouldn't be here now. Throughout watching my sister go through so many friendships, relationships and mostly go through the difficult high-school years (with my father none the less) I came to admire almost everything she did. She became my idol. I remember her telling me that she was always an honest person, and so she had people that hated her because of it, or loved her for it. She was always silly, always honest, and seemingly enjoyed her life (except for a couple years of high school, but i blame jason ;) )
One year, while my dad was with Laura, my sister had a huge sleepover and watched What I Like About you (or some other weird teen girl movie) and I waited until my dad went to sleep, snuck out of my room, and layed on the floor looking over the balcony, just so that I could watch the movie and see how my sister interacted with all her friends.
Now I may not have grown up just like her, my sence of humor is not nearly as entertaining, and I'm not as good at making, and keeping bundles of friends but I did learn a couple huge lessons from her.
Through watching my sister interact, being rejected millions of times, and through a bit of my own life-experience, I have become a stronger, more confident and much more optimistic version of who I was. I've come to be more honest with people and not such a sugar-coating pushover. And while I'm sure I hurt a lot of feelings, and I definitely lost of friends along the way, I've become a better person and I can honestly say, it helped me keep myself out of some pretty bad situations.
So, basically, thank you so much Jess for being a perfect role-model and helping me grow up to be a happier, healthier and generally better me. I couldn't have done it with out your bratty attitude and occasional hug (or silly "CHING" dances around the kitchen)
Thank you BBILBCTDHPUTDATODOPJ!
