Hockey Sanity

I got to watch my first hockey game in over a year last night. Finally found a channel that carries the games on our satellite dish. ESPN2 has no hockey. What's up with that?

Last year when I got this depressed there was no hockey either. So I've decided that I need hockey to stay sane. After watching last nights game I'm a very content kitty. It was an awesome game too. Dallas Stars vs. Minnesota Wild. Dallas is like #2 and Minnesota is like #13 in their conference but Minnesota won with an awesome goal, 2-1. There were no fights, but some awesome passing. Dallas really has a nice system going. Minnesota looked sloppy in comparison. Both goaltenders were great, with the Dallas goaltender trying to shine so that he would get picked for the Canadian hockey team to be announced in a few days. He stopped a lot of shots, but he was screened on goal #1, and goal #2 barely skimmed over his right shoulder and yet made it just under the crossbar. That was such an awesome goal. You don't normally see shots at that extreme angle actually make it in. It was level with the ice right up to the goaltenders toes and then the shooter just popped it up at a 80 degree-ish angle to sail right over the goalies shoulder. Just pop!

It was just an awesome game. I was whooping and hollering. *giggle* I get noisy.

*sigh* Happy kitty
