And I just go on and on and on...
We've had a bit of a population explosion here at the ranch. I've mentioned the fact that I get ducks out in back of my apartment - there's an open dog walking field that regularly floods when we get too much rain, so there's always little lakes out there. In the past few weeks I've seen several mama ducks with their babies - one with one, two with two, one with eight (they're almost grown up) and one mama with 12. The ducklings are adorabe little balls of fluffy peeps and it's funny to watch the mamas herd them about and away from eachother.
I've also been seeing more bunnies than usual for some reason, not only here but near work. I work near a large park that's around a river, so I regularly see a variety of wildlife - mostly ducks & geese, but also bunnies and egrets and the occassional hawk. It's one of the (few) things I missed about not walking to the bus anymore - I used to see bunches of that stuff coming down the hill.
Working on my scribbles - in particular CSI Miami. (Yes, the redhead is whispering in my ear again. I missed him. And the fact that A&E has been showing 1st & 2nd season has helped :) It's fairly worked out in my head - the idea being Speed is undercover doing something and hear about Horatio being shot (6th season finale) and comes rushing back from "the dead" - but I have no clue about how to end the damn thing, which might be a problem. I don't know how soon, though, since I've only been writing down snippits at work & emailing them home. And Seal's "Love's Divine" (from the 2nd season finale) is screaming for some kind of H/S longish fic to wrap itself around - although I do wish it would suggest a plot along with demanding a fic. And Sarah MacLachlan's "Fallen" also started poking at me with a Lost Son fix-it angst-ridden recovery idea. (Go listen to it - it's definitely a Speed song) AND the Backstreet Boys "Incomplete" especially the chorus line...

Now if that's not Horatio without his Speed, then I don't know what is. I can see him at Speed's graveside with this song going through my head, for god sakes. Angst galore.
But then all of this could mean that I've been listening to my MP3 player for way too long. :)
Strangely none of my Barry songs have been yelling at me for the same attention - I think "Somewhere Down The Road" satisfied the Barrymuse for awhile.
But all this means I'm falling back in love with the fandom again - For awhile there I could've given a damn because 7th season was pretty bad IMO. Some weeks I could barely watch it, even with the redhead. I think MW helped - although I don't know why, since CSI Miami fandom has about 4 people in it. That and rereading whatever H/S fic I can get my greedy little hands on (And now I want more, damnit!) And the rumor that Speed might be making another appearance *crosses fingers & toes*
And this week I'm going to definitely try to see "Star Trek" & "Public Enemies" - I took Wed, Thurs, Fri off from work so I should be able to get at least one of them in! Plus get all the other things done that I've been slacking off on - we'll see how ambitious I am.
