Two Month Appointment

Luke has his 2 month appointment this afternoon. I'm excited to see how much he's grown! Ben weighed him last Thursday at his parents house and is guessing that he's about 12 pounds now. We'll see how close he is.  So I'm looking forward to that and getting to ask the Pediatrician a few questions (like - should he be starting to sleep through the ( Read more... )

How'd the appointment go? I thought Christopher's two-month shots would be no problem but we both cried. My doctor never told me to keep Christopher away from people, I wonder why not.

Luke did well... he cried, but only right when he got the shots. As soon as I picked him up he calmed down. Then he was great for awhile - all smiley when we went to the store and during dinner. Then we went to small group and he started crying like he has never done before. It took awhile to calm him down - he slept in my arms, but would start crying again every once in awhile in his sleep. He got the shots around 3:30, and didn't react until about 7:30. Needless to say, Infant Tylenol saved the day when we got home.

I think the people thing really depends on the doctor. She said she's only picky in RSV season.

Laura tends to get cranky later in the day after her shots too. I gave her tylenol the first time, but I have no idea if it helped. She gets her six month shots on Thursday, we'll see how it goes this time.

I'm dreading the two month shots. Watching her be in pain from the heel prick test thing was painful enough...

My doc didn't say anything either. I think it's a matter of different pediatricians. Also, preferences. I've been ok with taking Lexi places, but I'm phobic about germy people.

I agree with the doctor thing. I'm sure each one has a slightly different opinion.

The shots weren't quite as bad as the heel prick... mostly because they're over faster. I didn't like it when she had to keep squeezing and squeezing. However, just because your little one doesn't seem to be reacting to the shots at first, doesn't mean they won't 4 hours later!

I'm definitely glad we don't have to do a heel prick again. Ugh.

Hopefully Luke'll feel better tomorrow! He's getting SO big!
