The little lorikeet didn't make it :( I noticed blood in it's dropping and it was losing weight and couldn't keep down any food :(  MC took it this afternoon to be put down.  RIP Snowpea

So i have a possum in care (who i will b e passing on to an actual possum carer asap) and another 'beak and feather' scaly... still dark eyed and partly black beak but no flights or tail feathers :( I need it to eat and put on weight and just get a bit more active and i reckon it should pull through :D Possum i had to go get from an 80 year old ( Read more... )

Ari managed to snag a leaf of a tree in the garden yesterday and nearly died. The tree is called Euphorbia cotinifolia. A whole day of him vomiting and frantic calls to bird vet nurses was horrible, i am so lucky i have people i can contact as no good bird vets were open. Fostering a keet for the RSPCA, she is someone pet who escaped/was released and landed on someone in a shopping centre. We have tried really hard to find her owner but no luck. She is in crap feather condition and bites when you try to get her off shoulders. She prefers me and says 'step up' and some other things i can't work out yet. She will stay ( Read more... )

I'm raising a 4 Week old rainbow lorikeet that was found being attacked by crows. She is just a little ball of fluff with a bald patch on her head and a healing up eye ( Read more... )

Taking caterpilla to work with me tomorrow to see if there is anything more we can do for him, he still can't fly and his leg still isn't good enough. If there is nothing we can do I am gonna give him to a girl who takes unreleasable keets in a big aviary.. Wish me luck, i would rather him go back to the wild :(
