But despite character design you must consider that without forth wall breakery that the characters actually chose to dress like this.

Though when you think about it, using that belt to help support Riku would have resulted in pulling Riku's pants up and possibly a nasty wedgie.
I would say Sora grabbed Riku's arse, but it had all the meaning of having someone's hands on your arse during a piggy-back ride.

He didn't have to choose to dress that way. DiZ could be a huge cheapskate and not have given Riku a very big clothing allowance. So when Riku went to buy pants, he had to shop on the clearence rack. There were only two sizes left, one way too small and one too big. (Like there always is when you go to the clearance rack.) So he had to buy the pair that fell down passed his arse.

Ummm.... There are no Heartless in Twilight Town, and he was too busy running errands for DiZ to take an off world trip or do any jobs on the job board. Imagine what pants would cost if a watermelon is 150 munny. A pair of jeans that's 30 USD would be about 1500 munny. It would take a long time to get that. And those are the cheap jeans. If he got good jeans, he'd be killing Heartless all week.

(You know, this idea made much more sense at 7 am when I was half asleep and came up with it. :P~ )
