Four reasons why there's no Disney.

I love Disney, and I love playing in the Disney worlds. Even so, I can understand why there's so little fic starring Disney characters, and it's not entirely because people think Disney's for children.
First, very few of the Disney characters have anything to do with the overarching plot, with the exception of Donald, Goofy, Mickey, Maleificent and Pete. While each of the Disney worlds have their own story, they don't have much to do with "Sora defeats the Heartless and Organization XIII while searching for his BFFs Riku and Kairi" (though to be fair, KH2 has been better with this).
Second, if people do write fic for the Disney worlds, why call them Kingdom Hearts fics? If it's just Halloween Town residents, is it a Kingdom Hearts fic, or a Nightmare Before Christmas fic, or a Nightmare Before Christmas fic with Sora guest-starring? The line can be hard to draw.
Third, who is more likely to be a fan of this game? People who spend a lot of time playing Squeenix games or people who spend a lot of time watching Disney movies? I personally believe that the former are.
Fourth, there's a lot of slash in this fandom, and most people really, REALLY don't want to see Disney smut.
Don't get me wrong, I love Disney movies. Hell, it's because of this game. But I can see why the characters are almost non-existant in the fandom. Oh, and if you DO think Disney's just for kids, don't think this rant is letting you off the hook.
Off-topic, but does anyone else notice how Mickey's speech patterns are like Sarah Palin's?
