In which my faith for fangirls has been shot down...again.

Okay, I was searching through FanFiction.net (unlike many, I don’t refer to it as the “Pit,” seeing as I still post stuff there), hoping for a good fic.

Yeah, I know. But sometimes, it works!

Anyway, so I happened to come across a fanfiction, in which the author mentioned that she/he/it had played Kingdom Hearts 2 for the third time, and noticed something pretty, and wanted to post it. So, I, foolishly, said “Oh! It can’t be that bad! I wonder what they noticed?” And clicked on it.

[Spoilers for both games. …I suppose.]

…You know that poem that you see in Kingdom Hearts I, when you don’t touch your controller for a while?

Heck, you know the poem that Kairi sends out in a bottle, and Riku gives to Sora in the World of Darkness?

You know THIS?

"Thinking of you, wherever you are.
We pray for our sorrows to end,
and hope that our hearts will blend.
Now I will step forward to realize this wish.
And who knows:
starting a new journey may not be so hard
or maybe it has already begun.
There are many worlds,
but they share the same sky-
one sky, one destiny."

Yeah, that was the story.

I mean, I don’t want to directly rant about a story (I’m pretty paranoid that mine will be ranted against), but come on! How many times did the author say they had played the second game? What, after three times, they still didn’t notice it? And that’s not exactly “fanwork” …more like something the creators made.

I don’t mean to be rude, but I had so much faith that Kingdom Hearts fans were …I’ll just say “informed.” But…why is it that, every time I go to Fanfiction.net, I find reasons to support my theory that all the sane fans left that place?

D:

common sense
