On changing points of view

Dec 15, 2007 20:26

I love fics and novels with different points of view (I think most of them fall under the post modernist category, right?). I could seriously go on for days and days about My Sister's Keeper and how much I love it and omgaaaaaw ♥

But writing in the post modernist style is really hard to do. When I see a fic that switches from one point of view to ( Read more... )

To answer your question, I write Luxord the way I do because he is James Bond. Seriously, he is.
Ahahaha, lawlz.

Okay, honestly now.
...I have no idea. o.O Perhaps it is fandom characterization that rubs off on my writing of them. Not the horribly OOC fanon characterization, like emo!Zexion and crack!Demyx and so forth, because that would be ghastly...
I would hope that I put my own ideas into them, but it's hard to tell...
THAT IS A VERY GOOD QUESTION. SOMEONE ELSE ANSWER IT.

...Dude, yes. I like that mental image. Except, I can see Luxord making his own gadgets instead of being issued them. xDDDD

Luxord in a tux! Is droolworthy. Actually, Lux in a lot of things is droolworthy, but whatever. xD

Ahaha, lawlz.
"But, sir, we just got the latest - "
"No, no, I think these'll do just fine."
"...An empty bottle of vodka, duct tape, and some pipe cleaners?"
"And some batteries. Terribly useful. Anyway, I'll be going now."

I just write them how I personally interpret them. That's about it.

Hm, that's an interesting question. I like to write Zexion, who is playing quite a role in my current fic, as a pretty deep intellectual that likes considering the stakes at hand before deciding. He's pretty much a leader in the current events, but instead of making decisions that benefit the group, Zexion would make decisions that ultimately benefit what matters most to him as a Nobody: himself

I like your characterization of Zexion, it seems quite accurate. What is annoying is that in most fics, he doesn't speak much. My friend told me that he doesn't shut up once you get him talking.

He doesn't talk in most fics? That's kind of dissappointing. I guess it goes with the assumption that he's emo, which makes me sad. (No irony intended)

It'd totally be out of character if I put Zexion in Beast's castle (which I am currently) and not spewing out theories on the talking furnitures and plans on how to get the Beast not to kill him, Roxas, and Namine :B

Yeah, he's solemn quiet though which is good, in most that I've read. Of course he's emo, his hair covers about half of his face.

If he didn't make up theories for that, I'd be worried.

It depends on how the character strikes me. I may or may not incorporate elements of fanon depending if I agree with them or not. If I get aggravated with a common fanon portrayal, then I may go out of my way to defy it.
