I'm still alive
Haven't updated in like....2 years or more? Not sure. And I'm quite certain no one checks this by now, which is probably a good thing, either way. News about me since last time. Let's see.
Finished the 10th episode of my tv series I've been writing. Working on the 11th, but, I'm considering rewriting 9 and 10 since they flowed off the direction I wanted to go in. Who knows if my series will ever make it to actual network tv, since it's almost worthless to try now with everything being cancelled for those bullshit Reality shows. In the past, I'd have said I'd pitch the idea to the WB, but, after they cancelled Angel despite it getting the 2nd highest ratings of any show in their lineup last year, and despite fans making the biggest support drive in network tv history to keep the show on the air and show they supported Angel, and despite the shows they renewed like 7th Heaven losing more than half their viewers last season. Yeah, pitching it to the WB isn't on my priority list, and Fox, haha. They'd cancel it halfway through the pilot to put on "OBESE PIGS! - LIVING THE HOG LIFE! THE NEW REALITY SERIES ON FOX!". I hate ABC and CBS as well, and NBC mostly relies on sitcoms, so that leaves me with UPN, and eh....Maybe I'll go with Cable, despite the fact I still don't have cable. Har har.
Yeah anyway, my game has come a long way as well. I've been making one for like 2 years now. The hardest aspect was the battle system which I've spen the most time on. It's quite impressive at this point, especially in regards to the materials I'm working with. I've got a working beta of it going now, adding in the other enemy AI's now as well as still trying to work out my parry system and combo system. I had to remove them temporarily because of all the damn bugs they were giving me, but, I'll work something out.
Also got back into palace again. Not really, I still hate palace, but Andy wanted to remake NeoTokyo and asked me to help. I always try to help people, so I said ok and I'm co-owner again. Who knows if it'll last or how successful it'll be, but, we'll try. Don't know how well I'm going to work out with it though as I can't even sit on the server without being bored out of my mind and being reminded why I gave up on palace a year or more ago.
Recently quit my job because they were dicking me around like crazy and treating me like shit and playing bullshit games. They gave me extra money in my paycheck the following week to try and entice me to come back to work, but I told them to go fuck themselves and happily spent the extra money regardless. So back on the "I need a job!" wagon once more.
I was co-owner of the successful http://rmdatabase.net for the past year. Quit a few months ago over a personal dispute with one of the other owners. Still an active member though.
Got a new computer. Badass 2.00Ghz Celeron processor, 2 HardDrives, 1's a 35gb, the others a 37gb, so that's almost 80gb in total. 256mb ram, I have 3 other chips, each a 128mb ram chip, but they won't fit in the damn slots so I'm stuck at just 256 for now. Got a DVD drive/Burner, bought some CD-R's for that, and I got a nice 17in monitor. Happy is for me I suppose.
My addiction to fighting games has grown to astronoical rates. I'm a frequenter of so many different fighting boards it's hard to keep track sometimes. I really need to get back into snk-capcom.com I joined there, posted a few times, mostly lurked, but then forgot all about it after my old comp busted and I was out of a comp for almost a month. I wrote an entire faq for King for KOF2k, and I also fought one of the top players of Marvel Vs Capcom 2 a few months back. He kicked my ass royally, but, It was still quite interesting. I really need to get to Evo one of these times.
Oh and this past April, Smurg came down and stayed at my house for a week. It was pretty fun and interesting. He's a cool guy, and I wouldn't mind doing it again. We mostly hung around and played vid games and some DDR. Took a trip to the mall and shit towards the end of the week where I owned some guys in Soul Calibur II even though I'm not a huge advocate of it. We also went bowling, and went to a bar to play pool once or twice.
Haven't spoken to my dad since christmas I believe, or shortly after. He hasn't called since.
My art skills are ever growing. I used to mostly only make edited sprites. But, I've moved onto drawing complete free-hand CG stills of real life models. I'm much better at drawing with a mouse now than by hand. I'm still learning, but, I'm getting pretty decent at it. I've made over 50+ fan-arts for my game already which are in the gallery mode. Davey also drew a few of them free-hand in pencil sketch and scanned them in. I cg'd them in afterwards.
And last night, fran and I went with his sister and her boyfriend to see Saw. Pretty fucked up movie, but in a good way. The ending was badass nice. Still, the movie was pretty fucked up and sick. I used to flinch during this kind of shit, but, I don't know. I never do anymore. Don't know why. I was watching the shit and it was morally fucked up to me and made me rather o.0 but I didn't flinch like everyone else was. I didn't jump even when the one thing happened that caught me off guard along with the rest of the audience. I mean, I should have jumped, I did in my head I guess. But, my body didn't. It's odd.
Anything else I suppose is uneventful/unimportant to mention. That's it for now I guess. Who knows if I'll update this thing again. Guess we'll see.
