Not that it's raining here. It's too cold to snow. But I'm writing a short story involving a rain storm, so here you go.
The elvish mage who is the protag of this next short story would be highly intrigued by the possibility of setting fire to the rain. It's unlikely she would, knowing all too well how much damage fire can cause in a forest, but she'd be interested in the hypothetical possibility.
As for me, I just finished a short story and have it off to people to review now. I hope to get it back by the end of the week and submit it by the end of the month. I'm a bit iffy on that one, since it's a specifically genderqueer protag in a specifically genderqueer society and the publisher didn't say anything about that. But hey, I'll give it a shot.
The elvish mage story is due by mid-March, though I need to do some research on that. Or not. We'll see. I've done a bit of research all ready. I'm still not entirely certain how I want it to go, so that makes a huge difference.
After that is the S&S story in April, but I already have that one done and just have to edit it.
QUEERS AGAINST SCIENCE FICTION made its goals, so they'll also be putting out a QUEERS AGAINST HORROR and a QUEERS AGAINST FANTASY. I once again already have a story done for QAH, though I'll need to come up with something for QAF.
I did just get a weird plot bunny today, so we'll see.
Ooh! And in fleshing out a synopsis (for practice), I realized how to fit in the scene I've been struggling with in the Dragon School. So I hope to get back to re-plotting and editing that shortly.
I'm not going to get back to the Bastard Prince any time soon, I'm sure. April Camp will probably be more editing on DS, and depending on how that goes, July Camp will either be MOAR EDITS! or writing on BP. Or maybe even more short stories. We'll see.
