So there's this new movie coming out. That's a continuation of a series. Which I previously reviewed. I think I called it 'The Dress Games'. I'm not 100% sure. But anyway. In the new preview for the new one...SHE SHOOTS DOWN A FLIPPING FLYING MACHINE. WITH A BOW AND ARROW.. And I'm thinking to myself, like trying to help the suspension of disbelief

Yes, it sounds ghastly! It's REALLY jumping the shark.
But it doesn't top an episode of NCIS a couple of weeks ago, when Gibbs goes to Moscow to rescue some agent of theirs who's trapped there (?), and they wind up rescued by a US Navy chopper, and -- to boot -- the whirly-bird flies NORTH to meet a US aircraft carrier (in the fucking ARCTIC, I kid you not!

And it gets worse: the chopper is forced down -- not by the Russian Air Force (which would have blown it out of the sky on its flight INTO Moscow!), but by some ultra-implausible rogue militia -- whose leader Gibbs kills as they grope their way to a least-worse ending. (Said dead rogue then turns up on the following week's show, not killed after all -- actually pretty spry for being drilled by Gibbs.)

Bad enough for you? Well, the Gibbs squad's fraught situation is seen at NCIS HQ -- and the irrepresible Tony goes to the rescue: "the jet is ready to go!" (Even if they HAD such an aircraft, it's still 7-8 hours flight time to get to the Russo-Finnish border -- and where could he land in Finland?)

Yeah, that show kinda lost me a few years ago during the trip to mexico. I liked it, but...they're running out of plots and really reaching now.:/

Actually, this week's episode was okay. (My sig-other likes the show; I occasionally catch it with her.)

My working theory is that the producer's idiot nephew is occasionally allowed to write/direct an episode -- and no adults had a look before it showed!

Funny -- I've talked to 2 or 3 RL friends, and they'd ALL seen it, and AGREED it was godawful. I guess everyone figures it was only them who had found it so bad...
