Everyone has geographical blind spots and I suppose it's not really fair to demand someone be familiar with Mali and the Arabian Peninsula...when they've probably never left North America...but...I was still embarrassed for her.

Ahahaha, sorry, but all I can think is Cabin Pressure. :D (It featured both cities, as destinations the hapless MJN Air doesn't actually make it to.) Please tell me the person is a fan and was just referencing Cabin Pressure!

(The episode 'Timbuktu' also featured a character thinking Timbuktu was a made-up place. I didn't think it might be a common belief...)

Sorry....I highly doubt this woman was cool enough to be a fan. Just plain ol' ignorance, I'm afraid. I fully intend to go to Timbuktu someday...and I intend to make it all the way there.
