I seriously just had this conversation
I'm back in the States for a little while, taking care of family-type stuff. I went out with my sister to a small party with some old friends from our high school. And actually had this conversation with a woman, we'll call her 'Not great at geography' or NGAG for short.
NGAG: So where are you living nowadays? Still in Europe or...?
KHLSN: No, now I live in Abu Dhabi.
NGAG: (blinks at me, waits for a second to see if I smile) That's a real place?
KHLSN: Uh...yeah.
NGAG: I just always assumed that it was just a made-up name...like Timbuktu.
KHLSN: Timbuktu is also a real place.
NGAG: You're kidding.
KHLSN: Uh...no.
It was surreal.
