Picture-past-perfect-tense-release

Over the last little bit I had a few exposed rolls of film hanging around.  With a few more from my Thanksgiving trip to my home town I had enough to get developed and put on CD... and voila!

Some of these photos go back a few weeks.

I nice roux European squirrel at the zoo

A nice photo of the white black bear that made both the news and urban legend sites in the spring.  The bear was born with white fur, but doesn't have albinism... he's just white.  Unfortunately, people took to feeding the bear and his mom, which "trained" them to linger around the highway where they lived.  The mom was hit by a car and the little guy was taken into care at the zoo.

Something odd that I noticed on my way to Saturday coffee a few weeks ago...

Okay... so buildings and parked cars aren't all that strange.  Except that the sign says "Toronto City Police Station 4".  Uhm.  In Winnipeg.  But with all the movies and whatnot being shot in Winnipeg, I'm pretty sure there's an easy explanation... but I have no idea how long that sign as been there and nobody noticed.  Or maybe just didn't say anything.

Back in my home town I got a good shot of deer tracks and tire tracks.  I don't know why I like this picture but I do... so everyone else must suffer for it!

One of my main reasons for going out to my home town was to do a bit more photography in the country (in addition to seeing my parents, of course).  Recently the town had put up an interpretive sight for the "Clay Banks", a buffalo jump that dates back at least 3000 years according to archelogical digs.  Sorry about the sloppy work, but I figured stitching 5 photos together would give a better bananarama.

And of course, the strangest bit about my trip home.  One night I find sitting in the middle of a darkened parking lot, an MCI bus.  Based out of St. Louis, Missouri.

I had talked to the owner of the company two days before!

The weirdness stems from a long story which I won't go into here, but needless to say... it was a strange coincidence, seeing the last time I'd been back home was about 2 years ago.

I think my work is stalking me!
