Poor Debby
I found out the sad news on atara's journal this morning.
Debby is the polar bear in the Winnipeg zoo, and also the oldest living polar bear in captivity, and she is now showing signs of her age catching up with her. Our bahr is dying.
Amanda and I frequent the zoo pretty often (made incredibly easy with the inexpensive year passes that are available), and I got a few good photos of Debby sunning herself at just a month ago.
It also seems that I've always been spelling her name "Debbie", but CBC seems to spell it "Debby". Though it seems that the text on the Zoo website also spells it "Debby". Except in the photograph. I'm certain Debby doesn't care either way.
