Great Night For Hockey

WE WON

Yay, Canada won the gold medal at the World Junior hockey championships. We beat Russia 5-0 and Justin Pogge got his shutout! What can I say I told you I love Pogge, I have a thing for goaltenders, but even if I didn't he was great. He won player of the game, and something else. Lots of hugging and leaping when the buzzer went, and it lasted for a half an hour. It was so exciting. The only sad part is when they turn the cameras to the Russians and they're crying their eyes out. The camera closed up on Evgeni Malkin (the best player in the tournament)and you could actually see his chest heaving he was sobbing so hard. Really ironic, when they flip it back to the Canadians who were freaking out and cheering. The night ended by the off-tune singing of the National anthem by our team, as they had their arms around each other, swaying. It was funny. Fun all around.

hahaha you can see his reflection in the cup

And the Canucks won, FINALLY! It wasn't pretty, or even that well played, but it was a win. Markus scored and Ruutu scored a pretty little penalty shot. Who knew he could shoot like that? On a side note The U.S.A. lost to Finland for the bronze, it's sad for the Americans who were the favourites this year, but I'm happy for Finland because they just seemed to want it that much more.

Good Night Folks
