i am cycler. hear me thump.
so the inevitable happened yesterday morning. first of all, let me emphasize that i am okay!
im tooting along; chillin', chillen', minding my bidness* on my way in to work yesterday. biking, as is my usual work transport.
all the sudden, this old biddy** pulls out from a perpendicular street and hits me. yep, that is right. me, on my bike, is now saying, "why, hello street! nice to meet you! my name is kewlnonutz!" thank goodness for helmets. my head hit the ground pretty hard. oh, did i mention that i hit the ground pretty hard?
nothing is broken on me; i have a bunch of road rash and bruises. my bike has seen better days. i fear the worst for it. the frame looks like it had damage, as well as a wheel or two, and my derailluer looks a little wonky. i will go look at it again in a while -- i was a little distracted yesterday :)
my car insurance, as i expected, wont cover the bike. home owners probably will, but i think we have a 1000 deductible or something. the good news is that the police officer cited the woman who hit me, for failure to obey stopsign or something. which means, she is definitely at fault; which means that the insurance BETTER EFFING COVER IT.
so that is that. again, i am okay. the ER took a thousand xrays. they admitted me quickly (i guess tuesday mornings are slow). but there was a lot of wait time between doctor visit, xray tech visits, etc. to pass the time, i held my breath and breathed funny to make fun patterns on the monitors.
so, how was YOUR morning?! ;)
