Shouldn't Be This Bored On A Saturday Night
But I am. I went to that seminar on Thursday night. Sped like a motherfucker to make it out to Lakeland in time. It lasted a little over two hours and turned out to be pretty interesting. Still, after thinking it over, it's not for me. The cost is too high, the training too long (close to two years, instead of around a year for fixed wing), and it just doesn't interest me the way flying fixed wing aircraft does. Even in a prop plane, I can loop, I can barrel roll, snap roll, dive for the deck at a couple hundred miles an hour and pull out at high G. I can't do any of those things in a helicopter. So now I need to figure out my financial aid, because I want to fly damnit!
Last night was all right. I went down to Jannus to see Attica play out for possibly the last time. They're still one of the most kick ass bands ever to come out of the bay area. That was enjoyable, then I came back to the 'rents house to give MSS a call. She's enjoying her time in Ohio, but yesterday was tough on her, so we spent about two hours on the phone talking.
I miss her a lot. I've never missed anyone like this when they've gone off on vacation. I guess that this is just more proof to me that what I'm feeling for her is real. I'm in love with her, though that seems a totally inadequate phrase for how this really feels.
Following the phone call, I went down to the Globe to meet Ms. Red and DB. We said goodbye before she left for her vacation, and I got a few last minute instructions for watching her apartment for her. Sat around with them and listened to Nico and the Trumpet guy jam in the back alley. Then we said our goodbyes to her, hugs and kisses, so on and so forth, and she took off. DB and I headed back to his house, and hung out there for a couple of hours. It was good to talk to him for a bit, we may go for a ride tomorrow night, which would be nice, as we've not gotten to do that for quite a few months.
Today I got up, and bummed around for a few hours. Drank a couple of maybe five or six cups of coffee. Read some interesting stuff on a BDSM website. Reset Gridlock and played that for a while. Played Deanimator for a couple hours. (I am so addicted to that game now, yay killing zombies!) Then I did some cleaning in the bathroom, washed out the tub and the sink, and my back is paying for it now. Gathered up the laundry, dragged out out and washed and dried a few loads. I'll probably vacuum and wash the kitchen and bathroom floors tomorrow. Also hit up the Globe again between laundry loads. Not much else, killed a lot of zombies today, and discovered that a real mouse works a lot better than a touch pad for that game. Guess I'll update again when there's something more interesting to say.
