Luke 8 :: walk slowly through the crowd

Dec 13, 2004 08:23

A busy man. Jesus had time for interruptions.

Making his way through a crowd, a mob, a mass of people crammed shoulder to shoulder they were just trying to see him, to hear him, to touch him; the text says they almost crushed him. Then the Messiah he just stops. He asks the question who touched me?
Peter is like Jesus you have to be kidding me everyone touched you the people are all up on you. Jesus said someone has touched me; I can tell, power has gone from me. Then this woman couldnt hold herself back anymore, the text says seeing that she could not go unnoticed, came trembling and fell at his feet. In the presence of all the people, she told why she had touched him and how she had been instantly healed. Then he said to her, Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace.

The beauty of this passage we do not go unnoticed the faith to reach out and touch the hem of his garment we can find healing in the Messiahs wings. Micah 8:2 But for you who revere my name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings. the reason she reached out, she believed that Jesus was the one that Micah 8 spoke of. reach out.

The call of this passage to notice the unseen to have the sensitivity of Christ to see those around us who need the peace and healing only Christ can give and to take the time to stop. today i will answer the call to slow down and not overlook.
