Sunny Weather (=Sunstroke)

Jun 13, 2010 11:50

We continue to have nice weather; if anything, it's too nice, although the sunshine is good for drying things out. That meant going out this morning and starting to cut enough grass to get at the pile of brush we cut last winter but didn't haul away. The grass had grown so high that we couldn't get at it. We spent about an hour doing that before Lisa called a break and sent me in to check my messages. Besides, we don't like using the power tools on a late Sunday morning on that part of the property, because it's rude -- even though we don't attend the church across the street, we don't want to interfere with their services.

From the cacophony of power equipment in the distance, many people here in Mehama are taking advantage of the good weather to get caught up on chores the way we are doing.

I was surprised at how quickly I overheated. And working in all of that tall grass is causing hay fever and a growing sinus headache. Unfortunately, I can't take Actifed -- which has always been a good cure for sinus problems for me -- because it's contra-indicated for people with high blood pressure.

mehama, lisa
