I had today off for the holiday, but the dentist who has worked on Lisa in the past was working today, and so we went to Reno for what would have been Lisa's first dental appointment since 2019. It was a big disappointment.
Lisa voiced her concerns to the office staff over COVID protocols due to the risk of respiratory infections, including not just COVID, but also flu and colds. The staff insisted that they followed precautions, that all of the people in the dental exam areas wore masks, and that the individual examination rooms' doors were kept closed. But apparently none of that mattered, because once they started working on Lisa (they needed to start with X-rays), people started coming and going and they left the door open, with unmasked people walking by the open door. She told the staff, "Do you see anything wrong here?" and they said no. Lisa got up and left.
When even the people in the medical care industry don't take COVID precautions seriously, it's no wonder that lots of other people do not do so, either. COVID isn't over, and if people keep acting like this, it never will be.
