Blown Away

This afternoon, a dust storm blew into Fernley.

Dust storms that obscure Interstate 80 (which is about 1 km north of the house) aren't that unusual, but this one nearly made the railroad (less than 100 m away) vanish.

I quickly closed all open windows to prevent yet more dust blowing into the house.

Meanwhile, today was the last day I worked on the layout for the Westercon 74 Program Book. Lisa looked over a near-final draft and pointed out another embarrassing layout error. I got it fixed, and as I write this, we are printing the Program Book pages. This will take a while.
