And Still There's Snow in Sight

Jun 01, 2019 22:41

This morning, the first of June, as I walked to the Wigwam for breakfast (and a date with $14 in blackjack winnings to pay for said breakfast), I snapped a photo of the Pah Rah Mountains to the west.

As I recall, snow is usually off the Pah Rahs by early spring, let alone this late in the year. I don't recall there ever being any snow in sight of our house this late in the spring since we moved here in 2011.

Because of all of the rain this season, the wildflowers in the vacant lot next to us are running riot.

After I got back from my free breakfast, Lisa and I went into Reno where we had a lot of shopping to get done. Some of it had to do with the Tonopah bid (plus Lisa pricing certain things we might get if we win the bid), while others were more general, such as buying each of us a second new pair of SAS shoes to give us time to get them broken in before SpikeCon, Worldcon, Eurocon, and a whole lot of walking.
