If we do not act to change our self-destructive habits, humankind is in for a period of great hardship.
Singapore uses about 2.5 billion plastic bags a year, which is roughly 625 per person each year. The sheer amount of crude oil needed to refine the bags, and the insane amount of resources required to properly dispose of "disposable bags" is mindboggling and we're only talking about plastic bags! Ironic ah!!!
China will be banning production and usage of it's thinnest plastic bags come 1st June. Korea already has laws that imposes fine on families not seperating refuse. Economically developed Singapore has once-a-month Bring Your Own Bag Day! What kinda bullshit is this?? Who the hell even knows we have this absoulutely assinine token display?? Wayang ah!!!
Make it Bring Your Own Bag Day EVERYDAY!!
All that we need to do is to exact small, almost insignificant changes in our life, and together our ripples will change the world!
Stop using plastic bags, totally. Stuff it in your bag, or bring a eco-bag, it's not difficult at all!
Reduce usage of plastic bottles: bring your own bottle everywhere! Or recycle the plastic bottles if you can!
Turn off the power of whatever you are not using! There is absolutely no need for air-conditioning when its cool! Use only recycled paper, and both sides too! Recycle paper again afterwards!
Carpool! Public transport! Oil prices are high so Im sure this will help ease the burden on your wallets!
Don't stop thinking about our planet! Think globally, Act Locally!
Is there a more important new year's resolution?
