Everything has changed

Its been almost a week now since I got the iPhone 4 and I must say that its an amazing gadget. Fundamentally, the program is the same but with the small tweaks like:

1. Being able to multi-task (i.e. Run two or more programs at the same time).

2. Having a better camera with flash!

3. Being able to group / categorise apps.

4. Design - more angular shape and feel of the screen and buttons.

5. Higher resolution screen.

6. Much faster in terms of processing.

I can't tell if battery life is better or worse (my main gripe about the iphone) and i haven't tried the video-conferencing function (they call it facetime). I also haven't had any reception issues.

Regardless, its definitely a big improvement over my old iphone 3G, especially since I didn't have to pay for it! This was really unexpected as Hong Kobg service providers don't offer deals like in Singapore, where you get the phone for a substantial price reduction if you enter into a two year contract with them. Instead, you're expected to pay upfront and they then reimburse you a small amount each month. This time round, my service provider decided to do it "Singapore-style" for their existing customers, if they decide to extend their contracts with them. Its probably because they are no longer have a monopoly on iphone distribution and they need to retain their existing customers. Probably, for the same reason, they're now offering better value plans too. So not only did I not have to pay for the phone, I got a much better deal on my data plan. Score!

In short, I'm really loving the iphone 4. Some significant improvements have been made. So much so that I would agree with their advertising line that "everything has changed"...
