OMFG...
So
optimystik spent approx. $140 CDN on the Mac OS Leopard upgrade for me because I couldn't look at airfare (browser too old; couldn't upgrade because OS too old).
Purolator delivered the CD yesterday, and I tried to install it today.
And I can't.
MY PROCESSOR IS TOO SLOW.

rinse and repeat
I never ever ever thought to look at System Requirements because I am an idiot. So now I have an opened $140 CD that I can't return because why the heck would they accept it back? And I can't use it because my computer is too slow.
I don't really know what to do because we can't afford a new computer. I also took a vow last summer not to buy new electronics, BUT now that I have only used options before me, I am suddenly very nervous. Buying used computers makes me twitchy because I fear the hardware won't be as sound as new hardware.
Plus, buying new means I'll already have this Leopard upgrade installed and the CD is still useless. So buying used would allow me to use the CD.
Is it possible to upgrade the processor on an iBook G4? It's currently an 800MHz PowerPC G4 and it needs to be at least 867MHz.
Any ideas from the LJ Brain Trust? My brain just isn't functioning at all here...
