Shaken
my voice is hoarse,
throat dry and scratchy
from screaming
at the black dog named Friday
while she was attacking
my Kiska on her morning walk.
thankfully the owner was home
and was nice enough to say
that if anything was wrong with Kiska,
we should let her know.
Kiska has now been attacked by a dog on every street in our neighbourhood, all within the past month. A Jack Russel Terror down by the parkette; the insane German Shepherd on Rosemount; the cranky old Sheltie with the negligent owner on Bigar; and now Friday, the hyper-protective black lab on Burlington Crescent. Oh, and the skunk right outside our door. Each time, Kiska was leashed and the other animal not. Each time, Kiska managed to escape with relatively little damage (even the skunk incident was mostly cosmetic).
Disgusted, Appalled
New Orleans. I really don't have much more to say than that. I don't understand that level of acting out; I don't care how destitute you are or how much hate and pain you are experiencing. It is Never a good time to rape or murder. Never. I don't understand bureaucracy. The death and the loss is bad enough, but couple that with the gross lack of preparation and outright negligence on the part of the people in charge (virtually no supplies in the dome; lack of public transit, etc.), it becomes ridiculously horrifying. Add Bush's posturing into the mix (we don't need your help; we can take care of our own) and, well, I give up. That's all I got right now. He is evil incarnate.
and Annoyed
Nikos has a hangover because he was out until 5:30 this morning at Tim's bday party. He is very unaccustomed to hangovers, so he was not expecting to have one today despite the copious amounts of liquor imbibed. We had plans to go to the CNE -- I've never been before, so I was looking forward to it. He wanted to be ready to go by 11 or 12, so I got up dutifully at 10:59, even though I went to bed at 5:30 this morning, ate, got ready, and had the dog walked by 12. It is 2pm now, and he is napping on our bed waiting for the Pepto to take effect. *sigh*
kiska,
unnatural disasters,
worries,
bad things
