It's no secret that I don't like my hometown. Neither, as it turns out, do most of the people I've met who are "refugees" from it; I've bonded over shared loathing of the place with lots of people over the years.

And I was also well aware that there was all kinds of racism going on under the surface. ( Cut for talk about racism )

Gah, I get so sick of bigotry. It seems like every time I turn around, somebody somewhere is making a racist and/or sexist comment. Especially on the intart00bz, where evidently people feel that they're anonymous and so they should strive to be as offensive as humanly possible ( Read more... )
