Ballycarrick, Ireland

Maureen Finnigan found Aisling wearing her cloak, and carrying her small satchel with old Mr. Bear tucked into the crook of her arm.

"Where are you going, love?" Maureen asked.

"To London, Mama," Aisling replied as she made her way to the door.

Maureen chuckled. "And what are you to do in London, then?"

"See my 'Mus!" Aisling said.

Maureen was taken aback. "Seamus isn't in London, dear," she managed to say.

"Yes he is," Aisling said. "He told me."

"Seamus is... gone, Aisling," Maureen said. "He isn't in London."

"No, no, Mama," Aisling insisted. "My 'Mus is in London, and he said we will have cake there, too."

Maureen sighed. "All right, where did he say he was in London?"

"Sssh," Aisling placed a finger on her lips. "Is a secret, Mama."

"Mama, I am going," Aisling said when Maureen just stared. "Byebye." Aisling trudged down the path to the wooden gate. "See you later!" She waved to her mother.

Maureen watched her little girl walk to the gate.

"Wait, Aisling!" Maureen called out. "I'm coming with you."
