We just got approved for a mortgage to buy a house that we fell in love with. The house is much closer to my new job, and doesn't increase Andrew's commute by much. Now I'm going to be the one who gets home earlier, which will be a nice change after a year of getting home an hour later than Andrew.
They took a very long time to decide about the mortgage, due to my immigration status. They don't like to consider the earnings of someone with less than 3 years left on their work Visa, and don't really have provisions for people who have a marriage Visa. It's not possible to have 3 years left on a marriage Visa, you start with 2 and then become a permanent resident. But you can't apply for permanent residency until you have less than a month left of the original 2 years.
We are very excited about our new house, which is a 3 storey townhouse up in the Valleys. We've been told that they will be finished building it in October sometime. I can't wait to have our own parking spaces after having to park on the street at the current house. Sometimes you can't park anywhere near the house, which is a bit akward if you have shopping. The new house will have a two car driveway plus a garage of our very own. And a bigger kitchen that you can actually fit two people in at the same time. And 3 bathrooms, with two walk-in showers. So awesome after living with just one bathroom. I think Kuro will like it up there, it's close to fields and some little woods he can run around in. Just hope he doesn't bring us anymore presents.
Okay, that turned into a bit of a ramble. My posts seems to have done that a lot lately. Dunno why.
