I have had a TON of Tron plot ideas that I've posted to the local kinkmeme, so instead of figuring out which ones I've already posted to my journal as well, I'm just gonna round em all up in this nice post. I really need to get the section of my website done where I plan to archive all these ideas, seriously.
It should be noted that unless stated otherwise, my plot ideas are Gen, slash optional, NC-17 material optional, and usually set in the same idea-sphere as
shirozora's utterly fantastic
Pilots & Poison universe.
Tron/Iron Man crossover, Gen/Slash (Sam/Tron)Encom became a subsidiary of Stark Industries; Obediah Stane (who is possibly Kevin Flynn's relative of some kind, maybe a cousin or uncle or brother) had help controlling his Iron Monger battlesuit. Like Tony had Jarvis in his suit, Obediah uploaded an old backup of the CLU program that Kevin Flynn had left behind to help control his suit's systems. When Stane gets fried on the Stark Industries roof, the power surge connects the battlesuit's circuits to the Grid, which formed the basis of all Stark Industries tech. Now Clu is back and attacking programs like Jarvis and the rest of Stark Industries' systems. Tony and Sam join forces and return to the Grid to stop Clu's rampage, with some help from a restored - and haunted by his memories of being Rinzler - Tron.
Gen/Slash (Sam/Tron), Prompt: Time Travel of a sortAU of Legacy's end. Clu is winning. Quorra and Kevin Flynn are gone, derezzed by Rinzler. Tron is beyond saving, and Sam is the only one who makes it out of the portal in the end. But in his grief as he goes over the program code from the outside, he discovers a glitch in the Grid's timekeeping codex, which is causing the entire system to loop. Sam returns to the Grid and finds that everything returned to the way it was before he stepped out of the duplicate Arcade the first time. This time, he knows what the score is - he has his Grid-clothes, his Identity Disk, his dad's location in the Outlands, and - thanks to a quick stop to Alan's place - the knowledge of how to restore Tron from Clu's corruption. Of course, nothing is ever as easy as one might think.
Tron/Life crossover, Gen, Kevin and Charlie CrewsThis idea would probably turn out as total crack. But I think we could get some good laughs if we put Kevin Flynn and Charlie Crews (from the tv series Life) in the same room. They could bond over Zen and fruit.
Tron/Knight Rider crossover, Gen/Slash (Sam/Tron, Michael/Kitt)I want Michael Knight and Kitt, in humanoid avatar form, on the grid. And there would be lightcycle races and Kitt would totally pwn Michael's butt. Being a Car's AI and all, y'know. There just aren't enough KR crossovers, and none with Tron that I've found. Tron and Kitt could bond over the frustrations of having a reckless and danger-prone User to look after. This idea would likely be set in both
MacX's Fire & Ice AU and in shirozora's Pilots 'verse, as both are utter win.
Gen/Slash, Clu, Tron, guiltangst, Prompt: Tell-tale heartWhat if, in the beginning, when Clu repurposed Tron to become Rinzler, Rinzler was not made to wear that helmet all the time? What if Clu kept Rinzler's face uncovered (with the damage from the last attack, and Rinzler's eyes glowing red, and neeeef!) but the corruption of his circuits caused Rinzler to begin growling, like a corrupted hard drive. The sound and the forever-stoic, blank, emotionless expression on the former Tron's face becomes like the tell-tale heart beating beneath the floorboards, a constant reminder of how Tron was once Clu's friend and, dare say it, uncle of sorts. So eventually, Clu's guilt over having damaged and corrupted his friend Tron became too much, and he sealed away those familiar features beneath the helmet. Prompt inspired by
a sketch in this collection, about 2/3rds down the page, the drawing of a blank-faced Rinzler sans-helmet purring, with Clu befuddled as to what that noise is, and by this art of
Ram and an injured Tron, which incidentily was spawned from
a commentfic thread that is heartbreaking in and of itself.
Gen/Slash (Sam/Tron) (would probably be more angsty with slash), Alan, Tron, deathficI've seen plenty of fics in which a digital character dies and is restored through backups and such, but you can't do that to humans. What if, User of Users forbid, Sam died in the real world, perhaps in the middle of restoring the Grid to its former glory? So, for the Grid, one day he just vanishes, when he was only supposed to be gone a short time. What would the programs think, waiting for their User to return, not knowing he can't?
What if in his will, then, Sam left instructions to Alan that in the event of his confirmed death, not just disappearance (in case he got trapped the same way Kevin did), he was to go to the arcade and access this computer, and enter a specific code message meant for a certain program. (Tron of course, because he's too badass to die.) And for Tron, the joyful shock of hearing from his user after so long is tempered by the mourning for the loss of Sam.
And would Alan understand what he was doing, typing that in, or would he just be honoring Sam's last wish and then shut down the computer? Or perhaps get curious, like Sam did, and get himself accidentally digitized for the first time? and he'd then come face to face with Tron, and share the news and the grief. This idea, of course, assumes that Alan still isn't aware of the Grid's existence.
Gen/Slash (Sam/Tron), Alan, Prompt: user interfaceIn the original film, in order to recieve new orders from Alan, Tron had to visit an I/O tower. When he starts rebuilding the Grid and restores Tron, Sam decides to change that, and programs in a sort of intergrid communications system, so that any messages he types to Tron in the real world are received by the program directly, and any messages Tron needs to send are sent to his phone/computer/handheld device, sortof like a two-way radio.
Bonus points if Alan starts using the comline, and Tron doesn't realise it's Alan he's talking to, and Alan is all shocked when he learns he's been conversing with a program when he thought it was a human.
Crack, Slash (Sam/Tron), Prompt: Flavored CircuitsLets put a cracky twist on circuit!porn! Program circuit lights have different flavors. Yellow is lemon, red is cherry, blue is either raspberry or mint... You get the idea. And the great thing about being a User is that Sam can alter the colors of his - or Tron's - circuits. This popped into my head on the wake of the utterly random thought, "Rinzler is cherry-flavored."
Gen/Slash (Sam/Tron), Prompt: Tron vs. the Antivirals, double-sided prompt
In preparation to bring the Grid up to specs with the rest of the 21st century, Sam uploads a few of the modern anti-viral programs (Norton, AVG, insert your favorites here) to help Tron police a growing cyberworld. As expected, these new programs are cocky and full of themselves, and think they're better than some has-been old security program.
Humor version: Tron proceeds to school their asses in his own personal Boot Camp From Hell on the Game Grid. Bonus points if one of the programs (probably Norton) wears his name plastered across his chest.
Angsty H/C version: Though he's technically in charge of the whole security force, as Tron tries to keep up with the new recruits he begins to doubt his skills in the face of these new, improved security programs, and worries that he'll become so obsolete, Sam will decide to delete him from the system. Sam assures Tron that he'll never be obsolete.
Gen, Alan and Lora (Alan/Lora), Prompt: The other side of the screenWe see the story from Flynn's pov in the computer, but what about Alan and Lora's side? How much time lapsed for them while Flynn was digital? Did they have to subvert Dillenger and the MCP in the real world waiting for Flynn to unlock the Tron program? What if they suddenly found their computer screen tracking a new program command line with Flynn's name?
allronix1 also prompted
something similar to this, and proceeded to lay out a fantastic story summary for me over PM, which I begged her to write. If I post the summary in another post, I'll link to it.
Gen, Alan, Lora, and Kevin, Prompt: strange behaviourIts kinda obvious from the get go that relations with Alan and Lora are strained between them and Flynn before he gets digitized, seeing as she's Flynn's ex and Alan is territorial. But after, suddenly he's treating them like old friends and respecting boundaries and stuff and calling them Tron and Yori. Having no idea what is going on, they're somewhat weirded out and concerned, naturally. Alan's POV please. Could be combined with the prompt directly above this one.
Gen/Slash (Sam/Tron), Halloween Prompt: Zombie ApocalypseAs Tron and Sam work to rebuild the Grid, a virus gets in and starts infecting programs, turning them into half-derezzed lumbering zombie-code that has a taste for untainted program's processors. Though Quorra is outside the system monitoring the Portal, Sam can't get back to it, on account of the zombie apocalypse and all.
Crack, Gen, Kevin and Quorra, Prompt: 5 ThingsTwenty-something years of exile in the Grid's outlands has to do something to a person's brain. I want a 5-things fic from Quorra's POV of crazy stuff that Kevin did during his exile that made Quorra doubt the man's sanity, and one thing that had the bonus of almost getting them derezzed.
Gen/Slash (Sam/Tron), Prompt: Hybrid (formerly Circuits in his veins)When Sam enters the Grid, he discovers all that time spent in the Grid drinking energy and interacting with systems meant his father passed more than his genetics along when he got Jordon pregnant with Sam. Sam's body, a hybrid mix of human and program's circuits, is perfectly attuned to living in the digital world, understanding how to do things instinctively, including using more User abilities than Kevin ever could.
Or, simpler terms, Sam has natural circuits in his veins he never knew existed until he got to the grid and they started glowing. Whether these are discovered on his first trip, or on a follow-up trip, is up to the filler. This one is definately set in the same idea vicinity as Pilots.
That's all for now; I'll add more if I think of them.
