Knight Rider - KITT-3K.
Have just returned from the downstairs after watching the two hour premiere of Knight Rider, or, as I shall here on out refer to it in order to distinguish it between the original Knight Rider, KR3k.
Gripe about product overadvertisement all you like, the new Ford mustang that plays the part of KITT is hot enough to give the Supernatural Impala a run for her money, whether Kitt is in control of himself or not. Add on nanite technology to make him virtually indestructable, and the AI brain I am SURE was made in Eureka, and I'm sold for the hyperadvanced piece of horsepower. Mike Traceur as the new driver can match the AI for driving ability, sure, but time will tell if it works.
The plotline, for a two-hour movie event, was somewhat padded with long car-chase scenes and exciting action shots of Kitt in motion, unfortunately laxing the show into an early rut. There was not a lot of backstory in the beginning as to who Mike was, or who his mechanic friend was, which was why I was somewhat confused when I saw said friend appear in the airplane belly on the tech crew. Aside from a few somewhat unnecessary emo scenes worrying over the wellfare of one missing person or another, there wasn't a lot of character depth. And it's my personal opinion, for series that are NOT remakes but are in fact continuations, one should strive to keep the essence of the old show, but still have enough variation to distinguish it. Using the name Mike, in replacement of Michael, isn't something I liked. I thought the character looked more like a Jason, personally.
Then again it may just be my own fandom squee that thinks Kitt using someone's name in two syllables sounds better than one. "What are you doing, Michael?" X3
Overall, I give the premiere a 7 out of 10, with hope for future improvement. I will definately be tuning in next Sunday to see if this indeed is the case.
Now would someone please please PLEASE write me some Eureka/KR3k S.A.R.A.H/K.I.T.T. fanfic? OR better yet, some Supernatural/KR3k Dean/K.I.T.T. fanfiction?

Oh, on a side note, I've gotten hooked on NCIS. I got ahold of the pilot episode earlier. They hijacked Air Force One to steal the body of a dead guy in order to assure their jurisdiction. That is so much win.
And on another side note, I spent all of today playing Pokemon Fire Red on gameboy. Likely the cause of my headache.
