good morning, champion

On my way into work the other morning I stopped at my parent’s house. It always seems eerily quiet when I first walk in. It’s funny because somewhere hidden in the house is a very skiddish grey cat. But I never get to see her when I come by. Even tho she was my cat for so many years, she has come to know me as one of the faceless tall people that she runs away from. Only on rare occasions am I able to coax her into lingering in a room for a few extra seconds before darting away.

When I was walking around my parent’s house (not sure why I wandered, but I did) I noticed that the bed in my “mother’s room” was unmade and so was the bed in “my parent’s” bedroom. It makes me kinda sad to know that my parents have gotten to the point in their marriage where they don’t even sleep in the same room anymore. I mean, I think they occasionally do, but just the concept of that seems so foreign to me. They’ve been married for, god, like 36 years I think? Thats a long time - I get that. But I don’t think that should mean that they are now tired of being around each other. I think it’s more my mom’s decision to sleep apart from my dad, too. I just don’t seem him feeling that way. And that’s always how its seemed, you know? That dad was way more devoted to my mom than she ever was/is to him. Mom claims she sleeps in the other room because dad snores. And while dad says that mom snores too, I don’t think he would choose to move into another room to solve the problem.

on a completely unrelated topic...

ive created a separate blog for all the stuff that relates to the bar exam. if anyone is interested, you can find it here: http://kesgrrl.blogspot.com/. i'll try to keep it updated as i go through all my various classes and whatnot.  i really want to document the whole process.  it's such a daunting task - id like to have something to look back on when all is said and done (ie. when im actually an attorney!)
