Summer

Greetings my fellow Scrabblings!

I figure that, since it's summer time, I don't have to make an effort at keeping my journal up to date, and one large post to cover the preceding summer will be completely acceptable. And since I've decided this, it's the case, regardless of what other people think. I mean, Summer is the time that I make an effort to find out about /other people's/ lives, not vice versa^_^

Summer began well, wiht the acquisition of job and consequentially money. May and June passed without much of consequence. July roled around and I went to Peru. This was also interesting, if you wish to know the sort of things we did there, there is an EYC blog that contains all of that information, to which I can refer you. Suffice to say that high altitude blows, so do soldiers with machine guns, and Peruvians are some of the kindest, most friendly individuals that I've had the pleasure to meet. I also had the pleasure of travelling with my best friends, which significantly invreased the awesome value of it all. On the whole it was a lovely trip.

So, got back from Peru came back to job. The scummy people that I was working with upped the scummy ante(I was also tired and sick, which didn't help), and I was feeling very /not/ part of the team. Then my boss(bless his soul) came to me and said "Hey, Kels, I've got this opening for a student helping Rick(Our mechanic). I knew you were into that stuff, so do you want to give it a shot?" I jumped up and down and had a fit inside, and said "Yeah, sure, that'd be cool!" So, now i'm no longer painting walls a disgusting industrial white, but I'm cleaning vehicles, doing oil and tire changes, welding picnic tables, and generally chilling with the cool shop guys, instead of the teenagers on the paint crew. Life is many shades of awesome. I mean really, I could have coped except for the discussion on clothing for the upcoming fair, which then produced the comment "Oh HAIR! We haven't talked about /hair/ yet!" exclaimed in a girly voice that nearly induced acute brick/head union on my part. Luckily I was saved by the absence of any bricks in the vicinity.

But, apart from the many shades of awesome, I am still quite excited to return to school. I miss the independence, and I miss all my city peeps. Espescially in light of the other losers that I have to work with. I'm stoked for Poetry class and all the rest of the awesome that comes with University. OH! I also managed to get myself a driver's licence this summer. It is many more shades of awesome. ^_^ Also started several cool roleplays that take up a good chunk of my time^_^ Huzzah for 14th century church conmen. It makes me happy.

So, there's the Reader's Digest version of my summer, if you have any questions, I'm around! Hope you're all having stellar summers filled with sun, rain, and good strong drinks!

Cheers!
