The Elevator Shaft of Eternity

Nov 13, 2006 01:46

I had an amazing dream last Friday night. I've never had such a clear, perfect dream. There was a very tall shaft about the size of an elevator shaft. It was not infinitely tall because the human race has not been around infinitely tall, but for all intents and purposes, it was extremely tall. It was lined with drawers. In each drawer was a memory of the human race, and I was an archaeologist from the future looking back at the artifacts.

The dream began with me stepping into a holographic recreation of a scene in a library where a mutant person (kind of like in X-Men) was handing out fliers to people to get them to realize that mutants are human too.

I asked the computer that managed the shaft of drawers to show me a peasant woman giving birth naturally, and it did. I asked to see artifacts from an ancient culture 3000 years in the past, and it pointed me to drawer 430. I descended into a dark portion of the shaft where I needed a flashlight to view the artifacts (this far back in time, there were no holographic recreations of events). I asked to see what the shaft's entry about the history of wheelchairs contained, and I was brought to a holographic recreation of a room full of wheelchairs and assorted medical equipment.

I woke up from this dream wondering if I'd tapped into the akashic records.
