Bored in the night

I have decided to come to terms with the fact that I don't sleep through the night much anymore. I am not sure if this is a age-related thing, but it seems to be getting quite chronic. I fall asleep, sleep for about two to three hours, wake up for two to three hours and then generally fall back asleep. I am mostly getting a solid six to eight hours, but rarly in one chunk.

As this is my new normal, I now have to find a good use of those wee hours of the night. I don't want to do anything too exciting or stimulating, or I won't fall back to sleep. This eliminates most of my computer work and research. I also can't do anything loud, or I will wake my Sweeite. This excludes anything involving power tools, which is pretty much all of my hobbies. :) I find I can do gentle exercise like pacing around the house, but my treadmill is too loud, even two floors away from the bedroom.

My default has been social media and TV, both of which are things I waste too much time on already. Not very productive.

So what can I do that is productive, quiet and dull? Maybe I will take up painting. I really suck at it, but it is relaxing.
