I just want to thank you guys for your thoughts, prayers and hugs (even virtual ones count!). We had the service on October 23. It really as a more fucked up time than I thought. Even though I didn't consider myself close to my father, it is weird going over to my parents house and not seeing him there.
My sister has practically moved in, leaving her trail of destruction in her wake. Everytime I go over there, I think "now you know your father wouldn't let you do your hair down here", "why are you letting your son create an absolute mess in the living room?". My mom is surviving, to say the least. As a child of my father, I haven't really talked to her about any of this. We Brittons are not into "feelings", especially for the sake of expressing them.
October 30 would have been my parents thirty-eighth wedding anniversary. My mom spent that evening at home, alone, nursing a cold. On Saturday we took her to Chili's, her choice. She seemed smaller to me, looking like my grandmother.
We decided someone should move back home and I was picked since it's just me and Alex. That's fine too, I guess, since I never wanted to live there with my father anyway. He really will be missed.
I finally went back to school last week. It's a bitch and a half to try to get back into the swing of things but hopefully it will all be for the best. I'm just glad that my mom still works. At least she has something to occupy her time.
Well I guess that's all for now. My life is returning to normal, again. NaNoWriMo is in full swing and I actually managed to write a ficcy in between homework assignments. Thanks again for everything guys. It really meant a lot to me and Alex :)
