Rededication

Okay, so everyone who knows me knows that I have been doing this cyclically for the past couple of years. It's not that I don't have any success or that I don't have any willpower, but things come up. Last summer was cancer. Then we started back on Atkins, but Thanksgiving and Christmas came. Started back at the end of January, then there were houseguests, Valentine's Day, Aliceon and Hans' birthdays and Easter. I had lost significantly last summer before the diagnosis - from 198lbs to 170lbs in around 6 weeks. I haven't been below 170 in about 5 years, though, and I have GOT to get below that. Of course, I weighed myself last week at Grandpa's and found that I had, for the first time ever, broken 200lbs. Depressing, but evidently the wakeup call I needed.

So now here I am. Back to low carbing (don't try to tell me not to - it's something that I have worked out with my drs, too, because my body doesn't metabolize sugars correctly, and I'm pre-diabetic. I know what I'm doing.), like I've done in the past, but I'm also starting an exercise program, too. I'm doing the Couch to 5k program with a girl on my mommy board, and I'm also doing a strength training program with Hans, The Abs Diet Workout. Having other people doing these things with me really helps me stick with things...

I'm also trying to get back into the habit of drinking water instead of Diet Coke. Last week at Grandpa's really helped with that because Derek's a huge water drinker. He only bought water for us to drink while we were at the house working, so we drank copious amounts of water during the day. So now I have water here and am drinking as much as I can. So far, I have had 3 bottles at a half liter each.....

So there it is. What I'm doing.

exercise, dieting, low carb, self-improvement, hans, atkins, abs diet
