Well let's see, yesterday I had two Masses for the Pope, the school one and the one at St. Agnes. We were out on the field for the first three periods of the day for the school one. (Music Ministry had to go out there first period so we could set up and practice a bit) The Mass went very well, despite the sound problems and one mistake during "We Are One Body". That was our last Communion song, and during the refrain after the second verse Kate H came over and whispered to me that we were going to stop singing after that. So after the refrain I stopped singing and everyone else did too, but I guess the musicians didn't get the message and thought we were going on to the third verse so they just kept on playing till someone started singing again and recovered it. Lovely Mass though. Father Gerard did a great homilly as usual, relating some experiences he had with the Pope. I also saw Mrs. Coor yesterday and we talked college and Matt and her dog who just had surgery. Then last night was the youth rally/Mass at St. Agnes. Katelyn and I went and we took Matthew with us. There were a ton of people there, including Lauren B, her mom, Mrs. Ellingham, Steph G, Jackie E, and Lizzie's bf Joe. We first watched a papal montage (film featuring footage of the Pope in various places with various people) that almost made me cry as Katelyn was describing it. Then we processed over to the church carrying candles and had the Mass. Another beautiful Homilly, this time by the Bishop. They had really good music too, and the girl they had singing was amazing. But they got the Bishop to sing too and that was ... well ... not so amazing. Now the Bishop's a really nice guy and I love his Boston accent, but he has a really bad singing voice. He had a solo right after the "Our Father" and I had to try really hard not to laugh. A wonderfull Mass all together. Afterwords, Katelyn and I went up to say hi to the Bishop and I asked him whether he was comming to HT soon because he owed us a Mass. (he usually does a Mass for the siniors every year and gives everyone no homework) He said he'd be comming in a couple of weeks. I was going to pull an all-nighter and watch the Pope's funeral, but I fell asleep and ended up missing the whole thing. Fortunately my mom taped it so I'll probably watch it this weekend. Today I called up Catholic and Hofstra and told them thanks for accepthing me but I won't be joining them next year. This is probably no surprise to most of you, but I've decided Manhatanville's where I belong and I'll most likely be going there next year. (Megan, I was going to wait and tell you this tomorrow, but I thought I'd write it in here now so just pretend you're surprised) So I'm goihng up there tomorrow to visit Megan and friends and stock up on MVille stuff at the bookstore. Now all I have to do is send in my deposit and it's official. It's nice to have that dicision made. Takes a lot off your mind. And I think I knew all along that I wanted to go there. Maybe that's why I was so depressed that they didn't have a very good speech program and perhaps that's why I started thinking about whether speech was the right major for me. I knew it was a sign when I heard that MVille was a sponsor of my local public radio station. So anyway, went to prayer meeting tonight with Katelyn and Marc and a lot of other people. Karen did the meeting and read You Are Special which is a really nice little story. Got a lot of people talking. We went to The Cup afterwords. Jill and Katie k were going to come too, but they never showed. Maybe next time guys. We got a table in the back and I had az frozen hot chocolate and Katelyn and i shared a brownie. Had a really nice time. Have to bring Matt there someday. Speaking of Matt, he called while I was in Mass last night. Still have to call him back, but I think he's serious since he's called me twice this week. Hmm.
Since it's now officially the day, let me be the first to say Happy Birthday Lizzie.
